My aim is to capture you and your family in a way that preserves both the “big posed image” that hangs proudly in the front hallway, and the smallest, most intimate details… the chubby toddler fingers that will eventually grow, the fatherly beard tickling a cheek, or the mother’s laugh you can almost hear through a printed photograph, because it’s so familiar and beloved.
“I remember the evening well. Jessie came down the farm lane in her cute rain boots, barn cat at her heels, camera ready to go. The golden hour was just beginning, perfect for this master of shadows and light. She knew how to move quickly while keeping everyone relaxed, laughing. Harry (the barn cat) wouldn’t be dissuaded, so of course he had to be included at least a handful of times.
I am not sure what it was, the beauty of the farm at even tide, Jessie’s joyous outlook, the warm, affectionate moments, but somehow time was suspended for just a moment. We were not just happy faces smiling for a camera but really and truly the contented family Jessie portrayed, in love with life and each other.
She doesn’t just make pictures. She makes memories.”
